Recyclable Art Show

Center high and middle school students participated in a recycling themed art show in Creede February 16th to help promote recycling. Student art pieces were to be constructed from 90% recycled Materials! They could have been in ANY category of artwork, including but not limited to: fashion, sculpture, and 2D. They awarded a first, second, third place prizes. $100, $75, and $50. They also had a best of show award that would be selected from both middle or high school for a prize of $200. Adams State also had a representative that selected another winner for a $500 scholarship.
Valley schools that attended the competition were: Alamosa, Monte Vista,Del Norte, Sierra Grande, Center, Sanford, Creede and Lake City.
Below are some pics of our student's art work that was entered in the competition. Center students Ricky Borunda received a Honorable Mention, Giselle Almieda received second place with a prize of $75 and Francisco Villa Received Best of Show with a prize of $200 & he was also selected the winner for the Adams State Talent Scout Award with a prize of a $500 scholarship to Adams State University.
