Families,
Students at Haskin Elementary complete a number of assessments that are designed to provide the student, parents and teachers with information that helps ensure a successful education. Students participate in state and district assessments to determine progress toward the Colorado State Standards, development of literacy and math skills, and to help teachers identify instructional needs. At Haskin, we have will soon be administering the Partnership for Assessment for Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) Assessment.
The Partnership for Assessment for Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) is a standards-based assessment designed to provide a picture of how students in the state of Colorado are progressing toward meeting academic standards. Students are assessed from Grade 3 through Grade 10 in English Language Arts, Math and Science.
It is important for all students to be at school on time every day but it is now CRITICAL in the next few weeks for PARCC preparation. Teachers will continue to teach new skills in addition to conducting a review of all the skills that kids have learned this year. This is instruction that can’t be replaced. Please make sure that kids arrive to school on time and stay for the entire day.
I have attached the testing calendar for your information. It is IMPERATIVE that your child be present for all sessions of this test. Please make any necessary arrangements to ensure this happens. Please let me know if you have any questions.
